One cannot help but wonder, how did such a critical detail go unnoticed by major entities like PayPal, Adidas, and the National Basketball Association (NBA)? It appears that the subsequent Adidas and NBA investigation was tunnel-visioned, and may have failed to address basic elements when attempting to prove criminality. In terms of procedural fairness, it appears this was limited to Sarah being electronically served (email) with US court documents by a lawyer linked to the NBA case. Further, the lawyer mentioned,
“If you are interested in attempting to resolve this matter through settlement, please contact us through U.S. legal counsel.”
Clearly, Sarah was not willing to settle on anything that she did not do.
