The Rise Of Asset Recovery Services

With the surge in online scams we have seen, especially over the last 10 years… there has been a huge demand for (legitimate) asset recovery services. Cryptocurrency technology has enabled scammers to move money around in a way that is harder to trace. Often the money gets moved from victim to victim via normal bank accounts, then it will get moved into crypto and from this whole process it becomes harder to track down the scammers.

To add insult to injury, Cybertrace has often seen that the same scammers running the initial scam are then running the ‘asset recovery scam’. Essentially, they pretend to be a legit asset recovery company – then they scam the same person again, all the while pretending that they are helping them! This redefines low!!

This kind of scam is also known as a ‘recovery’ scam, meaning they specifically target people who are already scam victims. These fraudsters keep what they call “sucker lists”, which are databases of people who have already fallen for an investment scam or romance scam or similar. They also buy, sell and trade these lists on the dark web. The list will contain details like your name, phone number, email, how much money you lost and what kind of scam tricked you.

This blog is looking into the Quantum Recovery Law Group, we will determine if they are in fact an asset recovery scam.

Who Is Quantum Recovery Law Group?

Screenshot of the Quantum Recovery Law Group website.

The Quantum Recovery Law Group website has a main heading that states “Recover Your Assets with Confidence”. Then the sub heading states, “At Quantum Recovery Law Group, we specialize in providing expert asset recovery solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. With years of experience and a track record of success, we are committed to helping individuals and businesses reclaim their assets efficiently and effectively.”

Underneath that section there’s a selection of what looks like stock images that are meant to be staff. This isn’t adding any authenticity! Next there’s a leaderboard style section of fictitious sounding stats. Anyone who knows anything about asset recovery will know that there’s no chance they would have 80% successful cases…

The About Us page states “Quantum Recovery Law Group is a distinguished legal firm specializing in cyber intelligence, cryptocurrency investigations, and asset recovery”. It also states “Our certified cyber investigators, based in the UK, bring extensive experience from handling cases on six continents”. There is no evidence on the page of any certifications, or real people that are investigators.

The About Us page lists the following services:

  • Cyber Investigations
  • Intelligence Gathering
  • Cryptocurrency Tracking
  • Cryptocurrency Tracking

The About Us page also mentions that they are based in London, and have “an extension” in Amsterdam. The Contact us page lists the address “Gridiron Building 1 Pancras Sq,

London N1C 4AG,United Kingdom”. This is a building that rents managed office spaces, it’s common for fraudulent companies to list one of these types of addresses to appear legit.

Interestingly their “Office Locations” page lists that they have a UK headquarters and a Belgium headquarters…no mention of Amsterdam. This sure doesn’t feel right!

Red Alert: Quantum Recovery Law Group’s “Identity Theft” Of A Dead Entity

The domain records for quantumrecoverylawgroup.com shows that the domain was created on 1 April 2024, so the website is reasonably new. The footer of the website states, Quantum Recovery Law Group is a trading name of Quantum Recovery Limited, a company incorporated in England and Wales under company number 13265350”. A search of international company databases revealed a company record for a dissolved company named Quantum Recovery Limited

https://opencorporates.com/companies/gb/13265350

The company dissolution date is listed as 12 July 2022, so the company no longer exists. Major red flag here! This suggests they are “wearing the skin” of an old company to look legitimate. Searches were also conducted on “Quantum Recovery Law Group”, however no company with this name could be identified. So basically Quantum Recovery Law Group is trading as an unregistered company.

The footer also lists 2020-2025 in the Copyright section, however as we identified earlier the domain name was only registered on 1 April 2024. Additionally, the company record says the incorporation date was 15 March 2021. Clearly they aren’t telling the truth with none of these dates lining up.

As Quantum Recovery Law Group uses the title “Law Group” they should have licensed solicitors or attorneys. There is no evidence of this whatsoever on their website, they don’t even list who any of their staff are. You can guarantee that “anonymity” is a red flag in the legal world – if they were legit they would have real people with their qualifications and license details listed.

The About Us page states,

“Quantum Recovery Law Group is a distinguished legal firm.”

However as we identified, there is no proof of this listed on the website. A quick Google search revealed this information:

“Based on information from the Solicitors Regulation Authority, “Quantum Recovery Law Group” is not an authorized or regulated legal firm. It appears to be a fraudulent entity using a fake name, and the SRA has issued a scam alert regarding it, noting it wrongly claims to be a genuine law firm.”

Additionally, this web page was found on the Solicitors Regulation Authority that backs up this information.

https://www.sra.org.uk/consumers/scam-alerts/2025/july/wealth-recovery-solicitors

The web page states that

“A website at ‘www.quantumrecoverylawgroup.com‘ is operating, falsely claiming that ‘Quantum Recovery Law Group’ is a trading name of Wealth Recovery Solicitors.”

It is a common practice that we see all too often with these kinds of scams for the website operators to try and impersonate a legitimate company to try and appear like they are legitimate. It appears clear that Quantum Recovery Law Group has no legal credentials and is not a “distinguished legal firm” as they claim to be on their website.

The Fee Structure

Often legitimate asset recovery companies work on a percentage basis, so they take a percentage of whatever money they recover for you. This works well for the client because if they don’t recover the money, they don’t charge them anything.

The Quantum Recovery Law Group website doesn’t show any pricing for their services, this is another red flag. However, if you do end up in contact with Quantum Recovery please beware if they start talking about upfront ‘administrative’ or ‘investigation’ fees or ‘taxes’. These are tactics that are well known to be used by scammers.

If an “asset recovery” company asks you for payment in cryptocurrency or via a wire transfer, this is another dead giveaway that it is fraudulent. Stay well away from these kinds of operators, and be sure to report them to Cybertrace

User Reviews And Digital Reputation

A good place to start when assessing whether a website is legit is to look for user reviews and trust scores or similar listed on reputable websites. Care needs to be taken when doing this, because many scammers have people creating fake 5 star reviews for them to try and make them seem more legit. Check the dates the reviews were left, and if you can see many 5 star reviews left on the same day you can almost always be assured these ‘reviews’ were created by the scammers.

The reputable TrustPilot website has a review page for Quantum Recovery Law Group.

https://www.trustpilot.com/review/quantumrecoverylawgroup.com

It lists many detailed 1 star reviews from users complaining about the website being a scam. One of the users claims that Quantum Recovery is linked to a well known scam website named Europe FX.

ScamAdviser gives Quantum Recovery a 1/100 trust score which strongly indicates that it is a scam.

Open source searches revealed this web page on the Just Answer website where someone is saying they are involved with Quantum Recovery Law Group to get their funds back from a scam that was carried out by EuropeFX

https://www.justanswer.com/australian-law/s7ind-further-discussion-client-month-ago.html

The person is advised by the lawyer to stop communicating with them asap:

“Yes, this situation is very likely a crypto recovery scam. The biggest red flag is their request for you to deposit 20% of the funds into a cryptocurrency wallet. Legitimate recovery firms or law practices will never ask for crypto payments upfront, especially without providing a contract or official company details. It’s best to stop communicating with them immediately and do not send any money. These scammers often target people who have already been victims of investment fraud, offering false hope of recovering large sums in exchange for smaller upfront payments that are never returned.”

A Reddit post that is talking about Quantum Recovery Law Group was identified:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Scams/comments/1kq6ii9/ausquantum_recovery_law_group/?rdt=45340

The person in the post claims they were also scammed by EuropeFX, and were then approached by Quantum Recovery Law Group. This puts forward more than one clear link between Quantum Recovery Law Group and the well known EuropeFX scam. It is more than likely that these two entities are one and the same.

This is how asset recovery scams work, the initial scam happens on an investment style website, then further down the track the victims are approached out of the blue and told that there is a way to get their money back. Then they get scammed again by the same crew operating under the guise of another brand claiming to be asset recovery specialists.

A review page for Quantum Recovery Law Group was revealed on the Scam Detector website that gives it a 49.6/100 score and lists it as “Doubtful. Medium-Risk. Alert”.

https://www.scam-detector.com/validator/quantumrecoverylawgroup-com-review

It appears clear from a few basic Google searches that Quantum Recovery Law Group is indeed a fraudulent entity, and not to be trusted.

Can Lost Funds Really Be Recovered?

When you have lost a large sum of money to a scam, the sound of an ‘easy’ recovery of your money by an ‘expert’ in asset recovery is likely going to be music to your ears. However, you need to understand the reality of the funds recovery landscape.

In the majority of cases involving cryptocurrency or boiler-room style call centres the chances of full recovery of your funds is statistically speaking quite low. In the case of cryptocurrency, if the crypto gets put through a ‘mixer’ or into a ‘cold wallet’ this can make it nearly impossible to be recovered successfully.

Most crime syndicates run investment scams, and the secondary asset recovery scams via ‘safe haven’ countries with weak financial regulatory bodies and no extradition treaties. This certainly makes it much more difficult to get your lost funds back.

On the other hand, if funds are moved to major centralised exchanges like Coinbase or Binance that follow strict KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures, law enforcement can sometimes freeze the account. Or if your funds were moved via a credit card or a wire transfer to a legitimate bank, you may be able to perform a ‘chargeback’ or ‘reversal’ via your bank.

Occasionally the FBI, Europol or Interpol will raid and take down a scam syndicate’s entire infrastructure, then return funds to victims as part of a court-ordered process. Sometimes in this kind of example, victims may even get all of their funds recovered.

A legitimate asset recovery company will tell you upfront that there is no guarantee that they will successfully get all of your funds back. There is certainly no asset recovery company that has a 100% success rate, and if they are claiming this on their website you can be assured it’s a scam.

Final Verdict: Is It Safe To Proceed With Quantum Recovery Law Group?

From what we have uncovered in this blog post, it is safe to say that Quantum Recovery Law Group is indeed an asset recovery scam and is not to be trusted. Additionally it appears to be linked to the well known EuropeFX scam, so it is very likely to be the exact same syndicate running the whole operation.

If you have been caught up in the EuropeFX and Quantum Recovery Law Group scam, report it to your local financial regulators ASAP. Additionally, be sure to reach out to Cybertrace here and we can assess your case. Cybertrace holds intelligence relating to the individuals responsible for this recovery scam.
