The Coin Trust scam. Cybertrace’s experienced investigators are issuing an urgent warning about the fraudulent website www.thecointrust.com, another sophisticated forex trading scam. This website should not be mistaken for www.cointrust.com, a website that provides cryptocurrency news, ICO reviews, and reports. We have also identified that www.thecointrust.com is linked to the known scam website, Tradevexo and is operated by the same criminal syndicate.

After recent investigations, Cybertrace analysts have brought to light important new information about how the fraudsters running The Coin Trust scam trick their victims into handing over thousands of dollars.

If The Coin Trust scammers have already cheated you out of your hard-earned money. Contact our experienced fraud investigators today to discuss how we can help. But first, let’s look at how the scam works and what tell-tale signs our expert analysts look for.

How does The Coin Trust Scam Work?

The Coin Trust scammers follow a common pattern. They entice unsuspecting targets onto their website, to sign up and register an account with a small initial deposit. Next, they build false trust by making their victims believe that they are quickly multiplying their initial investment and pressure them to “invest” more and more money. It’s only when victims try to cash out their supposed “profits” that the fraudsters reveal their cloak-and-dagger tactics, either ceasing contact or demanding further “taxes” or “fees”. Needless to say, these are just additional lies to extract further money from the victims.

How do you know The Coin Trust is a Scam?

While our expert analysts have access to sophisticated website forensics and online tracking tools, there are some things everyone can look out for to protect themselves and their families. These are some of the red flags Cybertrace identified regarding The Coin Trust website.

Unlicenced and Unregulated: Any genuine trading or investment company will list where and by whom it is licensed and regulated. An address on The Coin Trust website indicates an office location in Switzerland. The website also states it is operated by the company, SPT Media LLC with an address in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

To operate out of Switzerland and provide financial and investment services, requires registration with the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA).

Searches of the official FINMA search portal confirmed that SPT Media LLC is unlicensed.

Nameless and Faceless: While legitimate brokers put their names and face to their work, The Coin Trust scammers hide in the shadows. Their website provides no information about who owns, runs, or works for the company. Equally, there are no genuine current social media accounts for the company, nor can any employees be found on LinkedIn. Our expert analysts know that any legitimate companies would be taking advantage of the free advertising provided by social media!

The Coin Trust website states “Trust Us, You Can Trade Everything” on its homepage, despite the website saying it should be trusted, this is not enough, and this website should be avoided at all costs.

Does The Coin Trust Operate Alone?

Cybertrace’s expert forensic website investigators have identified The Coin Trust as being potentially linked to a long list of other websites including Tradevexo, and for this reason, have decided to issue a mass scam alert. We are hereby warning the public against doing any business with the following brands/websites as we believe they are highly likely to be scams. Cybertrace has been contacted by victims regarding many of the websites below and we are aware that hundreds of thousands of dollars have already been scammed.

Please note we have not independently investigated and verified every single website as a scam. Our analysts believe several of the websites listed below could be legitimate. However, we have strong reasons to believe that the vast majority of these domains are linked to fake crypto and forex trading scams.

If you have already been the victim of fraud, don’t hesitate to contact our experienced team of investigators today to see how we can help. Don’t be embarrassed or ashamed – Cybertrace is here for you!
