Cybertrace has been contacted by victims of the BCH Advance scam, running the slick-looking website https://bchadvance.com. Whilst the website at first looks legitimate, further analysis answers the question, is BCH Advance a scam, in the affirmative. Yes, this website is indeed a scam! Read on to find out how we know this.
How does the BCH Advance scam work?
The stories BCH Advance scam victims relay to us are consistent with those of a traditional investment scam. At first, the scammers’ targets send cryptocurrency to the platform which is supposedly trading crypto on the victim’s behalf. When the account balance displays a positive return and the victim attempts to withdraw their profits, the withdrawal requests are rejected.
In most investment scams, the offenders will then explain that, due to tax laws or anti-money laundering rules, the victim is required to pay a percentage of the profits to release the funds. From here it snowballs, with the victim paying more and more and despite meeting the supposed requirements. Despite this, withdrawals are still unsuccessful. Is BCH Advance a scam? Yes, its modus operandi certainly suggests so.
Why has BCH Advance stopped communicating with me?
Once withdrawal requests have been made several times, the BCH Advance scammers will likely stop all communication with their target. When victims contacts BCH Advance’s customer support to complain about the withdrawal being rejected, customer support will not be reachable. When victims contacts their account manager, they will also not respond. BCH Advance will even block their victims’ phone numbers to prevent further contact. Is BCH Advance a scam? Yes, the scammers’ communication method is a dead giveaway.
Are there other red flags?
Our fraud investigators identified many red flags associated with the BCH Advance website. For one, the website does not display their trading name or any registered company details. Generally, legitimate websites will provide this information. Additionally, there are no links to the company’s social media accounts, and the main form of communication is via Telegram.
On the other hand, legitimate companies usually provide an office phone number and an office email address or contact form. Finally, based on BCH Advance’s set-up, Cybertrace believe that it’s likely a new version of the dangerous scam website trade-weather.com. Is BCH Advance a scam? Yes, these red flags confirm it.
Is BCH Advance a scam connected to others?
Further analysis conducted by our team of digital forensic investigators identified that the following websites are associated with the BCH Advance Scam. Cybertrace scam investigators believe all the websites listed below are very likely scam sites! Please note: Our team has not independently investigated every website listed below and there may be a legitimate and unrelated website listed.
